I want to introduce you to the work we took on by faith after our last trip to India in March 2011. When I was visiting the mountains of Kandhamal my heart was touched by the orphaned children. They were very intelligent, loving and committed to God, just like many children in Christian families back in the states, except for one thing. They were not allowed to go to public school because of their faith in Jesus. In fact no other religious faith was disallowed in public school besides the Christian faith in these rural villages. My heart and faith was stirred! I started a plan with my India partners in ministry Agape Bible College-Sambulpar and Discipleship Training Center-Hirakud to increase our capacity in faith in regards to the orphanages we already ran.
People in every village were begging my staff to take the orphan children back to our facility six hours away where children could go to school no matter their faith. I prayed to God to give us guidance but how can you look at over one hundred and twenty kids that are just so in love with Christ that school didn’t matter, they still served God? But not having any education in India is deadly. The cast system in place creates a giant wedge between those poor and those with means to live. Without the proper education a family could be left in the lowest of cast, in society they would never be able to accomplish a reasonable wage to live on.
In 2011 we took a large step of faith by opening a new orphanage in Sambalpur plus adding children to our existing orphange in Hirakud. Both facilities took a miracle to get off the ground to meet the immediate needs which God did provide!
The total kids in for both children’s homes together is eighty. Praise God as we look at every month that passes we see Him provide for his kids! We now have a full-time children’s pastor named Jonas at our children’s home in Discipleship Training Center- Hirakud. We have also hired two new staff members and two cooks for the new children’s home at Agape Bible College- Sambulpar.
We have now taken a task to help them build on 5 acres of land they purchased themselves in Hirakud Orissa India. We are believing to have several buildings to be built on this land for feeding, children's home and training center.
Thank you for your continued support and prayers!
